I am editing a project and using footage with mixed frame rates. While the mixed material plays just fine on the time line, I cannot view in the preview window- I just get a freeze frame.

This has to be something simple, but I’m a relative newbie to FCP and just don’t know where else to turn. I’ve checked all the sequence settings, playback settings, system settings, user settings, RT playback options and I think everything is right…at least it’s the way it’s always been and I’m just now getting issues.

    Thanks for any help.

    What are your sequence settings?
What playout card are you using?
Your video playback settings should match your timeline Size/framerate.

sequence settings are matched to the viewing/playback settings of 23.98 and I am viewing through a Matrox MX 02.

I did however, go under the view menu and turned the video monitoring to cinema display. Then I could view through my preview and canvas windows. I just have to switch back to the Matrox 23.98 setting to view via hi def.
