January 2, 2009 at 4:33 pmHello,
So sorry I haven’t posted due to the holidays. We figured out what our problem was. I still had avid installed on my computer. Avid is a monster…it takes over the whole computer even when its not running. So my husband installed premire pro cs4 on a “clean” computer and it is working fine:)

July 24, 2009 at 5:23 amsorry to bring this old topic up, but i’m having the same problem -_-

July 24, 2009 at 11:48 amActually, my problem was that I also had avid media composer on the same system. Avid takes over a computer…so it wouldn’t allow premieres adobe player to work. In other words it is best to run adobe on a clean system.

July 1, 2011 at 11:30 pmHey guys & gals,
I’m having the same problem: got audio, but no video when I try importing footage into AE CS4.
The footage is “greyed-out” in the file list of the Project when I drag it in (or when I import through the file tab), and it’s missing it’s video data (i.e. aspect ratio, color info, etc…)
I never used to have this problem, and it was working just fine with the same footage before, but since doing a clean re-install of WindowsXP and all my software (including AE), this is what’s happening.
Also, I DON’T have AVID installed on my comp.
Any and all help and suggestions would be much appreciated.
JD
