no Video from FCP to Kona… PERPLEXED!
Just updated FCP 6.0.1 to .0.2 on a Mac Pro Dual with Kona3. Also updated to Quicktime7.0.3
Immediately after update I was able to output a full 30:00 program HD/SDI without problems.
I get back after holidays and I can only get video to play out the Kona through AJA TV or Quicktime, but unable to get FCP video playback in my veiwing monitor or scopes. (audio is there) Checked all settings in case someone jumped on the system during holiday break, but everything seems set.Am I dealing with update bug? I cannot check my current seqs on other systems since they have not been updated. (you know, that “can’t step back after update” thingy) Now our engineers are wary of updating the other systems, for fear of this as a bug.
can’t wrap my head around this one. HELP!
Pro res 422 1080i (1920 x 1080) 8 bit.

Sounds like either your External Video is turned off or you have a mismatch in your Sequence and Output settings. Could also have your Kona Control Panel set up incorrectly.
I would re-set your Easy Setup for whatever format you’re using first.
If that doesn’t work, trash the Prefs in FCP and re-set them again.
Also verify your AJA Control Panel is set up correctly.

I came in ready to trash prefs… but looked at my external video and Voila.. it was OFF! Now how the heck did that happen?
