  • No Sound Preview in After effects 7

Hi, I’m a total beginner in After effects. I have AE 7.0. I’m trying to preview and sound sync audio with video in real time. Is this possible with AE? I have read and watched numerous tutorials how to preview sound but all I get is a loud static. How can I fixed this issue?

    Sincerely
    Sergio

What kind of sound file are you trying to listen to?

I experimented with every sound file that is allowed for import.
Nothing seems to work for real time audio and graphic sync.

If all you’re getting is static, something is wrong in your setup somewhere. I’m assuming your audio works fine in other applications, yes? So check your audio output preferences. I don’t have AE 7 here at work, so I can’t check what options it offers, but I know there are settings for audio hardware in CS4 (what I have at work). If I remember, I’ll check on my old AE 7 machine at home tonight.

Thank you so much! I checked my audio output preferences and it works after changing the Sample rate and size. Thanks Again!

I wish I had the same results. I’ve tried it all. Checking sound preferences on computer and after effects (both set to internal in & out). Using Ram preview. Audio is selected in drop down under composition/preview. I’ve brought in the audio as a separate file in addition to the .mov file. Nothing works.

    Any suggestions?

    I could use some help.
