I just created a film trailer, exported it, then uploaded it to Vimeo and put it on my website.

I received a complaint from a customer saying he couldn’t hear 2 of the video clips on his iPhone,
but the rest of the video clips in the trailer, he heard without a problem.

I can hear these 2 video clips out of both speakers on my computer, but the sound is a bit quieter
than the other clips. There are no audio filters on either clip.

    Any advice?

    Thanks!

The issue might be two or three steps removed from your uploaded file, so troubleshooting could be a challenge. The first step is to verify the audio quality exported from Premiere Pro and transcoded by Vimeo. Download the transcoded Vimeo movie and import it and the file you uploaded into Premiere Pro or Audition. Let us know if there are any issues with the audio or differences between the two files. If there is a problem with one of the files we can go from there. If everything is OK the issue probably lies elsewhere (Vimeo player, web browser, iPhone compatibility, etc).

Thank you for your help, Ivan!

I did what you mentioned, and didn’t hear any difference in the audio for either of the clips when I imported them back into Premiere Pro.

I wasn’t sure which file format to download from Vimeo, as there were 4 options:

    1) Mobile .MP4 file (480×270 / 8MB)
    2) HD .MP4 file (1280×720 / 50MB
    3) SD .MP4 file (640×360 / 16MB)
    4) Original .MP4 file (1920×1080 / 122MB

So I downloaded all of them, imported them into Premiere Pro, and there was no difference between these and the original mp4 I imported back into PP.

    Thank you,
    Ande

    Hi Andre,
I am experiencing the same problem. Our 10:00 video plays back fine on our computer using Vimeo, Dropbox or YouTube. If the video is playback on any mobile or second screen device, there is no audio for one of the interviews throughout the video (same person) and the music is really loud. Do you have any suggestions?
    Thank you,
    Valerie

    Hi Valerie,
I ended up solving the problem with the Audio Effect called “Fill Left”. There were 2 clips I couldn’t hear on a mobile device, and it was because they were out of phase. I just dragged the Fill Left Audio Effect onto each of those, and they work just fine now.
    I hope that helps!
