  • No sound on analog audio capture on Multibridge Pro 2

Using the Multibridge to capture analog footage for the first time. I have a Sony SVO-5800 VHS deck in here to capture some very old VHS tapes. I get video into FCP or Media Express capture but no sound.

    Settings and connections:

    • Composite Video & Analog XLR Audio in Decklink CP
    • Blackmagic NTSC 8-bit Easy setup in FCP
    • NTSC, 8-bit in Media Express
    • Composite video out of deck –> NTSC in on Multibridge
    • XLRx2 out of deck –> XLRx2 in on Multibridge

I have confirmed there is sound coming out of the deck by plugging the XLR cables into my board, and I guess I could route everything through my board if necessary, but that just seems silly

I think I may need reference video. I have tried sending the deck’s video monitor output (composite signal) into the Multibridge’s “REF IN” and the Decklink CP confirms “Reference input connected”, but I still get no sound. Do I need a black burst or other signal generator?

    Thanks.
