I’m editing in FCP 7.2 on a mac tower. all of a sudden the sound no longer comes out of the viewer – however when the timeline is selected and playing there is still sound in the canvas with the image – I tried detaching the 2nd monitor and matrox mini but it seems that is not where the problem is..any suggestions of things to try ?
    Thank YOu

Usually the ‘all of a sudden’ moments are damaged preferences.

If this always worked up till now, the first step is to trash your FCP preferences.

I’ll ask the questions that are obvious, but have to be answered:
You take footage that should have audio in the viewer and you put it on the timeline and then you can hear the audio?
When it’s in the viewer, do the audio meters move?
When you have the clip loaded in the viewer, are there patch panel inputs on the timeline?
