Hi Tim –
Jason has given you excellent advice. But because this is a Blackmagic forum, you should really buy the Blackmagic sync generator for $295 retail, and $280 mail order. And certainly you can go onto ebay and get a used Horita BSG-50.
I love Blackmagic, and some of their products like the Broadcast Videohub are among the greatest products ever developed in the history of our industry. But when Blackmagic came out with that STUPID ASS SUGGESTION of looping back the Y output of a Beta VTR into the Ref Video input to get rid of the ERROR-093 NON STD SYNC error – well, that is in the running for the STUPIDEST SUGGESTIONS in the history of our industry.
Do you know why Tim – because if you are in this business, and you do this for a living, YOU NEED TO OWN A BLACK GENERATOR. I don’t care if you have 10 starving children, I don’t care if your mother is dying of cancer, and you need the money for for her medicine. I don’t care if the terrorists are going to blow up your house unless you hand over that 300 bucks – YOU are going to buy a Black Generator if it’s the last thing you do. You are going to solve this problem once and for all, and never complain about it ever again. BUY A BLACK GENERATOR, or the evil spirits from the Australian outback will haunt your sprit for all eternity.
And Tim, tomorrow morning, order the following item (just a suggestion) –
