Good day, I’m having an issue when trying to render without recompressing. I’m working with Vegas Pro 10 and rendering a file using a template based on the built-in DVD PAL -template with three changes:

    – field order = upper
    – aspect ratio = 16:9
    – bitrate = CBR 9 000 000

That is, I have made those changes and saved them as a new template which I then use.

Now, I rendered my project using this template, then added the video stream back to the timeline as I needed to make corrections into a very small portion of the video (the project is quite complex and long, and takes a great time to render, so I try to avoid running the entire render process again).

Then when I try to render the project again so that almost the entire video stream would be directly copied instead of being recompressed, using the same template as mentioned above, the “no recompression required” -text blinks irregularly. Sometimes it goes about 50 frames before blinking, sometimes several hundred frames, but nevertheless, I get occasional blinking. When I view the output file, I can notice occasional quality loss in places where the blink has occurred.

I’d greatly appreciate assistance with this matter, since it’s really giving me a headache ’cause no-recompression rendering is a very important feature to me. Thanks!

Some help would really be great…I suppose I’m not the only one with this issue.
