No preview or playback of 7d footage with PPro CS5!
Hi Everyone!
I recently installed Ppro CS5 to edit 7D footage natively and to my surprise I cannot see video playback, neither in the preview window nor in the program window.
I do get the yellow bar and audio playback, as well as waveform monitor playback when I set the program window to display waveform. Any clues?Rig: Core i7 930, 24 Gigs RAM and Nvidia GTX285 running on Win7 Ultimate 64. I have checked the project settings and they are ok (DSLR 1080 @25p)

Sounds like the wrong graphics card driver or you don’t have latest QT installed…

Hi Jon,
Thanks for your answer. I have the most updated Nvidia drivers and Quicktime Pro 7.6.7, though I agree with you it sounds like drivers/codecs issue. I did install Quicktime after Premiere (does the order matter?). Any other ideas?

Solved!!! Turns out it wasn’t Quicktime nor the drivers, but a conficting app bundled with the graphics card. It is an ASUS Matrix GTX285, an “enhanced” version of the GTX285 that comes with bundled software for overclocking, online surveillance an video capture (of games, I guess).
After removing such extras it works like a charm. I’ll be using it without the “enhanced” features, but the actual reason why I chose the Matrix was the deal I found (200$ including shipping).
