  • “No Movie in File” Error Message_Audio Playback/Export Issue

I am working on an FCP7 sequence I inherited from another editor. On playback, I keep getting an error message at the same point in the timeline saying “No Movie in File”. When I delete the audio clip in that spot, the movie plays through that point just fine, so I know the problem is with that clip. I just don’t know what to do about it.

The clip itself is properly linked to it source. I’ve tried unconnecting and reconnecting it, importing a new copy of the clip, reconnecting to a copy of the same clip on a different drive, and exporting an XML of the whole sequence and opening that in a new project. I still get the same error at the same point. The audio clip (which is a .wav) plays back alright on its own in QT and iTunes, so I don’t think its corrupted.
    What am I missing?

I’ll also add; in case its relevant, that there are quit a lot of unconnected clips in the project (the former editor did not preserve their sources on the drive), but there are no unconnected clips in the actual sequence.
