NO HDV video playback option in audio/video playback tab
I’ve just joined the FCP5 and HDV debate.
Loaded HDV material to FCP system, now I don’t have the HDV option avaliable for playback. It has been greyed out on my video/audio selection area.
why is this? I’ve done a clean install to tiger and FCP 5.
everything else seems fine….for the moment.

Have you updated to Quicktime 7.01 before installing FCP 5?
Did you repair Disk permissions after OS and Quicktime Upgrades?“now I don’t have the HDV option avaliable for playback.

why is this?”What do you mean by are you trying to monitor your HDV throught Firewire out??

Hi mate, since I brought the HD link from you, it won’t playback HD video through the Apple 23 inch screen.
any ideas?

Hey Simon,
i called your office thursday and spoke to your assistant.
In order to output HDV you’ll need to have some sort of Card which can display
HD like an entry level Decklink.Your current system will output Standard def throught the hd link upsampled by 2 and that’s what we did test
at the office.As i mentionned if you need HD playback at HD rez (1080) then you’ll need an HD card.
