I am using a few JVC GY700s on a multicamera live event shoot that is running through a NewTek standard defition switcher and want to get the best STANDARD def image from the cameras. Unfortunately the NewTek doesn’t support SDI.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a STANDARD Def signal out of the JVC GY700 COMPONENT terminals? They appear to be only HD.
If I can’t, that means I have to use the COMPOSITE out? Ouch.

FYI, the the only choices for the NewTek inputs are composite, component(SD) or S-video.

    thanks
    Anthony

According to the manual, no. You can’t get a SD signal out of the component terminals.

However, you can get SD out of the Y terminal as a component signal. Check page 114 in the manual for settings.

Just using the Y terminal makes it a composite.

Ah yes, sorry — I mistyped. You’re right, it is composite. =)
