  • No Color Bars during Edit To Tape

While trying to “edit to tape” I am unable to get the color bars to come up. It goes directly to the first frame on the timeline. I have color bars selected in the mastering setting tab, but it’s not showing up. This used to work and work very well. I could simply enter the seconds of color bars I preferred and that was that. But for some reason it’s not doing that anymore. I was just wondering if I’ve messed with a setting somewhere.

I know that I could use the color bar generator under the “effects” tab, but I’d like to skip that step.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Are you doing assemble or insert?? Have you set the correct In Point or are you crashing onto tape??

Are you using In/Out points because i think this may cuase a problem…

Either way, we’ve got this problem and thus black the tape and create bars from the effects tab. We also do this in our avid suites.

Are you doing assemble or insert?? – Assemble

Have you set the correct In Point or are you crashing onto tape?? – We set the in point from an existing point on the tape.

Are you using In/Out points because i think this may cuase a problem… – We place an in point on the tape we’re mastering to and we place an in & out point on the sequence. Sometimes we use “entire media” from the sequence if we want the whole thing.

We used to have AVID too and placed the bars on the timeline, but not having to do that eliminates a few steps.
