No Clip TC Ins/Outs with DV Start/Stop Detection
Doing my first project in HDV, from a Sony HVR-V1U to FCP 5.0.4, using Capture Now with DV Start/Stop Detection. It’s working very well, but when the clips show up in the bins, the In and Out time code column shows “Not Set”. If I click on the In or Out column for a clip, the correct time code appears. If I open a clip, I can move to the head and mark an In, and to the tail and mark an Out, and all is well.
Is there a way to automatically have each clip in a bin show its starting and ending TC as the default in/out? (Believe me, I’ve scoured the docs and Googled this, without finding an answer to what should be an easy procedure.)

The next two columns (Media Start and Media End) should show you this info. Unless/until you set an in or out point it will say “not Set.”
Perhaps not the solution you are looking for, but a quick alternative to having to go the beginning and end of each clip to set your in and out, double click the clip, then hit “x” this will set an in and out at the beginning and end the clip.

Media Start and Media End show you the TC you’re looking for…
In and Out columns aren’t like Avid’s… they only show TC when you’ve set and in and out point.
