no capture preview
Hi everyone,
Just found this awesome website. Anywho,I’m using Vegas Pro 9.0b and the problem I have is this: When capturing my DV source tape from my JVC DV deck, I do not get to see the video I’m capturing. When I click the stop button, then I can see and hear all the video I’ve captured.
Same problem with MM and Winavi. No capture preview. I’ve turned the internet upside down trying to find an answer in all the forums, newsgroups and software manufactures websites (Microsoft and Sony too).
My gear is thus:
AMD 2.4 dual core, 4 gigs ram, xp professional 64, Nvidia 7900 dual head video card, fast sata drives,2 Samsung flat panel monitors.
This problem seems to have first occurred when upgrading to Vegas Pro 8.0. Any help will be tremendously appreciated.

I’m supposing you have the option to Preview while Capture selected?
In Sony’s Video Capture program it’s:
Sony Video Capture 6.0 | Options | “Always Preview Video”

Thank you Graham for responding to my inquiry. Yes, I’ve been thru options and all the properties I can find. I even learned to view the secret tab in options by pressing shift (that was way cool btw).
I tried disabling the show preview button in the trimmer window, no difference. My fear is that XP Pro64 as an OS will not work with Vegas Pro 9.0. Actually, V9 performs all other functions very very well with this one, and very frustrating exception.
