No audio with .MOV files – and it was there before!

November 25, 2009 at 6:45 amYes you will need to go back to an older version of iTunes. I uninstalled the latest version and installed version 8.2.0.
That is the one that is compatible with QT 7.6.2.
Everything works great now.

February 6, 2010 at 11:50 pmWell I upgraded to Vegas Pro 9.0c and I seem to be having this problem again, although it appears it is isolated to only one Quicktime file. About halfway through the audio cuts out, waveform and all. Plays fine in the QT player, but not in Vegas.
It’s the same mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC again.

I am experiencing this EXACT same problem, although returning to QT 7.62 did not resolve the issue. Vegas 8c knows the correct audio codec (in properties) but there is no audio forthcoming. Have you figured out the issue? Any permanent solution your can recommend? Many Thanks,
Mike

June 9, 2010 at 10:57 pmI don’t pretend to know anything, but I was having the exact same problem (.mov files losing the audio track on import into Vegas HD 9). I don’t even remember why I tried it, but changing the file extension to .mp4 from .mov completely fixed the problem. Seems bizarre to me, but it worked, and I am not going to question it. Good luck!
