When I play my project, Premiere doesn’t play the audio. I need it to play the audio in order to know when to cut it, so this is a problem. When I drag the marker I can hear the audio playing at several times speed, but not otherwise. Toggle Track Output is on, so i haven’t accidentally muted my video, and the speakers are working. Is there some way to fix this, or is it merely a bug?

Is your audio set to play thru the desktop or thru an external device? Check the setting in preferences and make sure it’s correct.

Do you have a DV device connected to your system? If so, unplug that.

This is a common occurrence with non MSDV codecs, like DivX and the like. What is the codec used?
