We have been working on a project for several months and suddenly we can’t capture audio using our Kona 2 card. We are capturing Panasonic Varicam material using the HD-SDI embedded audio. We can hear audio when previewing, and see levels popping when we are playing tape, but the clip will digitize with no audio on the audio tracks. None of our settings have changed, but suddenly we can’t caputre audio.

We’ve succesfully capured DV audio as test, and we’ve tried capturing audio only with no success.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Gabe

Hey Gabe. You know Terry Maday, right? I’m over at his shop.

Triple check that you have Video&Audio selected in the capture settings tab.

Also, so you have the kona control panel application installed? If so Make sure to check the audio section of the “inputs” tab is set to embedded ch 1-8 (not XLR or analog).

Are you logging and capturing or capturing now? If you have logged the clips, what is listed under the ‘tracks’ column in the browser? (should be something like 1V, 2A)

    Start there and post back.

Check also that you did not changes the settings on the deck when you did a test with DV.
Reseting the parameters in the Easy Set up DO NOT override the Kona Control Panel.
