I’m hoping someone has some suggestions regarding an audio problem that I am having in AE CS5

I’ve imported an H.264 compression QT into a new CS5 project. The original file has audio. In the project list the file also has audio as you can see the waveform below the thumbnail. When I bring it into the timeline the file loses the audio despite showing the speaker icon. When you open the Audio waveform it is completely flat therefore no audio.

What is happening here? Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

Well there’s your problem right there! haha

Seriously though, you should convert to another, less compressed and more editing friendly format and see if that does it. It’s probably an issue with the video or audio codec. Just export from quicktime or convert in compressor or sorenson or whatever you have. HTH
