  No audio at all on imported AVI files

  Hi everybody! I’m brand new to the Cow and I’m really looking forward to being a part of your wonderful community!

  But the reason I’m here now is because, as you may have already guessed, I can’t seem to get any audio up and running whenever I build a DVD.

  I have these AVI files that when I play them in Windows Media Player or anything else work brilliantly. So I tried putting them on a regular DVD that will play in any commercial player (i.e. I did not format the disk as a Data Disk to have the player read DivX files. The player in question is not capable of doing so). But while building the project I can never get the audio part of the file to play. And when I drag it into the timeline window, all I get is the video track. No audio track. The same thing happens if I import the file as an asset in Premiere.

  Is there a way I can separate the audio and video tracks prior to importing them or is there anything at all I can do about it?
