No Audio and No Video
Right I have 2 completly seperate problems
1. On my laptop I have Premier Pro 2.0 and it simply isnt playing back any sound. Its there on the timeline but I cant hear anything. Theres nothing wrong with the files and theres nothing wrong with the laptop or my headset so Im presuming theres some sort of setting thats not set right withing the guts of premier

2. On my friends Desktop PC, Premier Pro 2.0 again. He is not getting any video from any of his files, in this case the video isnt even appearing on the timeline, the audio is there but no video. Again nothing wrong with the files as far as Im aware, they work everywhere else but Premier…
what is going on here?

Regarding the first issue, if these are Premiere compatible file (not divix, xvid etc.), try shutting down Premiere, deleting the media cache folder, then restart Premiere.
That will force Premiere to reprocess the peak audio files and should solve the issue. If all is well, you will see the indexing bar at the bottom right.
On the second issue, what are the files? It could play on every media player and not on Premiere. Were these files from a camcorder ?
