My first Vegas Pro 9.0 project was rendered using default settings and initially blacked out one minute of some video clips however the audio continued working for said clips. I rendered again in MainConcept MPEG-2 format using DVD NTSC template and since then, I received a “playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not exist”.

I have since changed the audio device on “Preferences” to Windows Classic Wave Driver with SPDIF Interface (Conexant High Definition) which now allows the playback to work on Movie Studio yet still no audio. The audio mixer and timeline reflects the wave form of sounds.

I checked the Control Panel Device Manager for Sound to test the SPDIF Interface (Conexant High Definition). The ‘test’ shows that sound waves are generated yet there is no audio from my computer speakers. When I ‘test’ the Internal Speakers, sound waves are heard and seen.

From all appearances, everything seems to be working but I have no idea why there is no audio when I playback my project in Movie Studio or DVD Architect. My project looks so good yet I’m unable to finalize with this glitch. I have searched every troubleshooting suggestion on the internet especially Creative COW with no success.

Any assistance that anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated. BIG THANKS in advance!!!!!
