First forgive me I am not in front of the machine with the problem, so my wording or terms may not be 100% accurate.

Ok. I have a Blackmagic Multibridge extreme hooked up to a MAC Power PC G5 10.4.9.

When I have FCP 6.0.1 set to capture with the BlackMagic NTSC – 8 Bit. I get no audio into the system.

The video is SDI in, but the audio is analog.

I’m using the Multibridge 6.2 for Mac OS X Universal drivers.

When I change the easy setup to BackMagic – ProRes I will get my analog audio coming in.

The control panel in system preferences is set to take analog audio and SDI Video.

    Any suggestion.

It seems that in order to be able to capture analog audio, you must feed some kind of analog video also. Try by connecting any video source to the composite in.
