Nitris DX Deck Communication Woes
Anyone using the JVC BR-HD50u deck to ingest into a Nitris DX? More pointedly, anyone having luck with communication between the deck and Avid hardware/software. I’m on a Mactel Pro running Media Composer 3.1.1. I have the keyspan serial adapter and all firmware is up to date on the deck. No communication is possible no matter what I try. Please someone let me know how they’re making this work. No timecode/deck control=no batch digitize, batch re-digitize, EDL’s, digital cut, etc. I feel as though my arms are tied! Thanks fellow bovines

you have the Keyspan serial adaptor – which one ? No Keyspan USA-28x for you ! USA-19x, which then goes into a Rosetta Stone (or DataMate) RS232-RS422 adaptor. The days of the USA-28x (The old mac adaptor since the beginning of time) are OVER for the Nitris DX.
