  • Nikkor D3s – AF-S 12-24 1:4 G ED DX – problem video settings!

I have a really strange problem which I cannot solve and being in the mountains of Vietnam right now, I really hope to get your help.

I film in the highest quality (1280 x 720) (16:9) and I never change these settings. When I film with my 28-300 mm (1:3.5 5.6 G ED VR), I don’ have a problem. However, filming with my Nikkor AF-S 12-24 1:4 G ED DX (without changing the film quality!!), it films in 640×424 (3:2). I want to film 16:9 high quality using my wideangle and I am pretty sure I could do this before. Now, I dont understand why it seems to overrule my setting in the menu.

Note: when I return to the 28-300 zoom, it returns to the required setting (i.e. 1280 x 720).

Anyone any idea what goes wrong here? How I can use the 12 – 24 mm in 16:9 high quality (1280 x 720)?

    Help much appreciated!

    Hello,

That lens is not designed for a full size sensor camera like the D3s, it won’t fill the full sensor that’s why
    it’s kicking over to 640x 424
