I’ve been doing a lot of searching, but can’t find a definitive answer to this. I want to run Resolve on my Mac Pro, and I’m trying to decide what GPU’s to buy. I currently have a Radeon 5770, which is great outside Resolve, but I think that will need to go, because it uses 2 slots and 1 precious power cable. I have only 2 6-pin power cables and 3 slots available for video cards. I’ve sort of come to these 2 options:
    GTX 680 by itself
    Or Radeon 6850 slim + GTX 660

I know the 680 performs much better than the 660 in an apples-to-apples test, but which of these 2 configurations would be better? If they’re very similar, I’d rather go with a single card to leave room for a Red Rocket. Is anyone able to do a standard candle test with these configurations?
