NAB Show will feature an exclusive keynote discussion focused on how cloud technology is redefining sports broadcasting and driving audience engagement. The session, produced by Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com company, will explore how sports leagues, broadcasters, and over-the-top (OTT) service providers use cloud-based media workflows and advanced artificial intelligence services to deliver new experiences for sports fans. The Main Stage session titled, “Beyond the Field: How Sports Pioneers are Powering the 360 Audience Experience in the Cloud,” will take place on Monday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m.

Whether at home or in the stadium, sports fans today expect deeper insights and more engaging content before, during, and after the game on an increasingly wide variety of mobile devices, apps, and social media. NFL.com analytics expert Cynthia Frelund will lead the discussion as high-profile sports leaders share their insights on how next generation media workflows create enhanced, customized experiences for sports fans. Panelists include Stephanie Lone, senior vice president of Engineering with CBS Sports Digital; Rafael Soltanovich, vice president of Software Development at Hulu; Scott Sonnenberg, chief global partnerships officer for the LA Clippers; Chris Witmayer, director of Broadcast, Production, and New Media Technology at NASCAR; and Mark Kramer, vice president, Engineering and Technology for Pac-12 Networks.

“Sports fans’ appetite for the latest sports action, updates, and information is insatiable,” said NAB Chief Technology Officer Sam Matheny. “This session will speak directly to how the cloud and tools like artificial intelligence help sports leaders give fans new experiences today, and provide a glimpse at what the future holds.”

The show will be encoded and delivered by AWS. AWS will deliver a live stream of the event via an AWS media workflow that includes Amazon EC2, Amazon Elastic Load Balancing, AWS Elemental Media Services, Amazon Route 53, and Amazon CloudFront for public access at https://live.awsevents.com. A video-on-demand (VOD) asset will be available after the event at https://live.awsevents.com.
