newbie to Canon 5d footage, how should I set my sequence settings?
Everytime I change the sequence settings to clip settings the video plays without having to render but its choppy as hell… but when I change to apple pro res HQ I have to render 20 minutes each clip but they play fine… how do I set the sequence settings to where the video plays smooth without having to render each time? Thanks!!!!

does the 5D give you a folder on its flash memory like “BPAV?”
I know the other canon camcorders do and with that you log
and transfer. It transcodes the clips to prores pretty quickly
that way. and it puts those clips in your capture scratch folder.I wish XDCAM did that.
AH apparently gluetools will be making a plugin for fcp to do
log & transfer of 5D but its not out yet.I would maybe batch transcode them with mpeg stream clip or
just render them like you already have been doing. If you have
a fast disk array and lots of storage, do 10 or 8 bit uncompressed,
it should render faster. -
Convert in compressor first to ProRes.
