Newbie Question – Duel File Output
Hi everyone, i am looking at capturing DVCPRO HD 1080i into Final cut from a KONA 3G card but i also need a smaller file sized version.
Is it possible to have two files one HD ons SD in quick time format captured at the same time?DVCPRO HD 1080i file size is 45GB I also need a SD file size in the region of 10GB in Quicktime.
Do i use the break out cables to achieve this?

absolutely not. If you need to create a full res. file, and a proxy file, you have to create the file, and then RENDER out the proxy file with software, like Apple Compressor, Telestream Episode, etc.
However, if you are willing to spend the money for Softron Software, it will create a ProRes 422 file for you, and create a simlutaneous Proxy file at the same time.
You want the Movie Recorder software from Softron to achieve what you want.
