newbie needs c4d training
Posted by Diy555 on November 18, 2006 at 3:49 pmI’m trying to teach myself c4d from a designer point of view. Less concerned with modeling and more interested in using this app to animate and stylize 3d objects. I have had little luck finding a good book or more than a hand full of tutorials online… Anyone recommend a good source for this type of training. Thanks DIY

November 18, 2006 at 5:49 pmTruly, if you’re going o make flying titles and rotating 3D objects versus animation or in depth CAD-type modeling, the best book to have is simply the manual. Many of the more advanced features with your ideas in mind are spelled out in the first few paragraphs of each chapter.
If you use “the Google” to do a search, you can pull up hundreds of tutorials that should kick you off.

November 19, 2006 at 7:36 pmC4Dcafe is the best. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of in-person training. I tried to get some a while back in L.A. but none of the companies I contacted seemed able to put together a full class. And individual training was prohibitively expensive. That said it’s a very user friendly app and I successfully taught myself what I needed to know.

It’s a pay service but quite reasonable considering the huge number of tutorials available, and more being added almost daily.

November 23, 2006 at 1:00 pmHi …. can I join in here … I’ve seen a lot of C4D training dvd’s on ebay at pretty good prices though I expect ‘get-what-you-pay-for’ comes into play here … but does anyone have any experience of the ebay offerings ?
Many thanks

November 29, 2006 at 7:06 pmAnother good starting point for learning C4D is Lynda.com. It too is a pay site…but at 20-30 a month…you can learn alot in a short time. You can also buy the cdrom and not worry about a mothly fee.
