Beginner here with FCE. What are the major differences with the 2 softwares, apart maybe from the multi cameras option. What would justify getting the more expensive FCP?
    Thanks

PS. Enzo, are u first generation Aussie ?

HD is native to FCP5, another plus.

    Laura,

I haven’t used FCE, so I can’t speak for interface and functions etc, but the single main limitation in FCE as I understand it, is that it is limited to the DV format only. FCP allows expansion into HD ( as mentioned by Alexander) or other SD formats (uncompressed, DVCPro etc).

And yes, I am first generation Aussie. Apart from Laura also being my sister’s name, your name sounds familiar…? Are you in Australia?

    Hi Enzo,
I am Italian but I live in Florida. My family is in Florence. I once visited Australia and it is truly a beautiful country. I hope you pronounce your sister’s name the Italian way, not the Lora way !
Thanks for your help, I have a small production company and I just decided to buy a Mac to add to the other Pc, so I am struggling a bit.
    Auguri per l’anno nuovo.

It is indeed a great place to live – although you wonder when you endure the hottest New Year’s day on record: 44 degrees C!!

Do you have a website for your company? I’d like to check it out. What kind of work do you do? What are you using on the PC? Premiere? Avid?

Grazie per l’auguri – right back at you and your family! :o)

    Ciao Enzo,
I have a web site http://www.thevideofactory.com You can’t see much though. I have been debating about
going back to Italy, so I am not truly determined and devoted to my business development in the USA.
I shoot and edit events full time, I work both on Premiere and now FCE. I also own Avid the basic software, but I never really got into it. It’s Hard to switch when you are always in the middle of many projects. I am going to sleep now, you are probably in the middle of your day…We will talk again..
    Ciao Laura
