  • Newbie: Adding pic to Video Timeline overlaps existing pics and TimeLine gaps

    Hi all,

I’m just learning and got frustrated by this behaviour on my SVMSP9 Trial.

    1. How to avoid overlap of a new pic on the Timeline ?

I dragged a set of pics to the Video Timeliine and they all line up back to back fine with a 5 second duration ( per Preferences > Editting tab )

I now drag a single pic in between a pic already on the timeline but the new pic overlaps the existing pic.

I expect the new pic to occupy the position and all the pic/clips content to shift to the right ?

    2. Gaps when deleting items

When deleting a pic/clip with the delete key, the item is deleted but there is a gap where it was. Can we configure to have the adjacent items shift to close the gap ?

    Thanks, Paul

1: go to OPTIONS-PREFERENCES-EDITING tab and deactivated the automatic overlap option

2: activate RIPPLE EDIT (at the menu bar) before deleting an event.

    Hi Theo,

Overlap option was already off in Preferences > Editting tab.

But, selecting “Auto Ripple” on the Menu Toolbar did the Trick !!!
Now items shift over during Inserting or Deleting pics/clips.

    Thanks, Paul
