December 20, 2011 at 4:45 pmAlthough nobody replied me I already know the answer to my previous question: Even the newly created AVCHD 2.0 files can not be exported back to a Sony camcorder! What a pity.
Tested as follows: I used Sony Vegas Pro V.11 Build 510 (32 bit) and V.11 Build 511 (64bit) and rendered using the AVCHD 1920×1080-50i template. In the template custom setting I changed frame rate from 25i to 50 progressive and increased video rate to 26Mbips. Nothing else was changed. The files were rendered as transport streams m2ts, i.e. not mp4 available in the previous versions of Vegas Pro!
I could play the created *.m2ts on my computer but they could not be exported to my Sony camera, (using PMB, Menu->Manipulate->Export files). The export always started well but after a few minutes it fails reporting some error…. Note that at least the new m2ts files were recognized by PMB. The original *.mp4 were not.
My Linux based player Azbox plays the new m2ts files with errors. It plays the original *.mp4 much better.
What is an advantage of the new m2ts format, when it is still not compatible with Sony camcorders and third party players have more problems to play them back as compared with the previous *.mp4 files?
Hope this info may save somebody some time…. -

December 20, 2011 at 9:19 pmI’m having exactly the same problem. When I try to render, Vegas crashes immediately. I sent them five separate error reports, hopefully they address this problem in the next build.
[Clark Sillery] “Cannot render without a crash!!! Going to go back to the buggy 424 version right now!! This is crazy!!”

December 23, 2011 at 1:36 amAfter purchasing VP11 to upgrade from VP9e, I have had nothing but trouble. After my current project is completed I will be reverting back to VP9 as I find 11 a complete disaster, for me.
I need, depend upon, a stable, professional program to get my work done, VP11 is not it, it is a very unstable release and should never have been put into the market as a “solution” but only as a “beta” for people to play with in their free time.
I am very disappointed with Vp11 and have filed 50~75 crash reports for the 8 minute project I have been working on, I am at my wits end and if it were possible to open the project in VP9 I would have reverted weeks ago. VP11 is not ready for prime time by any measure. An to think I upgrade so that I could take advantage of the “stabilizer” plug in, which I found out is worse than the one in VP10! and now there is no network rendering in VP10 or 11. Is Sony doing an Apple? releasing new software to a professional market but giving them a consumer product that just is not capable of doing professional work?
My $0.02, the value of VP11 to me.
I’ll be waiting for VP11.1.0, if it’s a STABLE release!
