New to Premiere, New workflow question
I am coming over from Final Cut Pro, more specifically 7. I was never a fan of X and now have had enough of the render times and the fact that I am hardly taking advantage of my system is enough for me to try moving my workflow over to premiere pro. I already use After Effects and Encore for my DVD/Blu Ray creation.
I am a wedding video editor, my files consist of a mix of Sony Z5/Z7 M2T files, a mixture of SLR files (canon 1dX, Nikon D4, Nikon D600 mostly) and the occasional GoPro shot. My previous work flow for final cut was I took all of my footage and converted it to ProRes422 @ a resolution of 1440×1080 (unscaled) I found that this format and sizing worked well for all of my projects. From there I would edit in HD in Final Cut Pro, export using compressor depending on what I needed, either for DVD or Blu-Ray.
I am pretty sure this was not the greatest workflow but it worked and produced consistent results for me which was important. Now I want to know what the best work flow would be for Premiere CC. I still want the same option of editing in HD and THEN have the choice to either output for DVD or Blu-Ray.
Thank you for any help!
