Thanks for this great forum folks! I hope you will forgive me if I ask one very elementary question(s) about DVD Architect. I am just beginning with it.

So far I have done the following to create a DVD for my film (in the past I used Sony Vaio’s Click to DVD instead of Architect)

    File: New
    Single Movie
Choose file I want to be the movie
    Insert Empty button

I am puzzled about how to proceed. Here is what I want to do:

Create a real basic menu for the DVD so that when you put the DVD in a DVD player that you immediately see a button that is like a small window showing a very short preview of the film. Once you click on that it takes you to the film itself where you can watch it.

One major question of course is this: Do I create this mini intro film (to be contained in the button) in Sony Vegas and import it as a rendered file into DVD architect? Or is there a way to do that in Architect itself?

And of course the major question would be once this is accomplished and my mini-preview is contained in the button does it automatically connect to the main film? So that once the button is clicked while viewing it takes you right to the main film?

What steps do I need to do this one please? I know I am asking for a several step process and these are such beginner questions but I dont have any tutorials on Architect and this is super basic.

    Thanks very much!

If you click New-single movie, you just drop your ‘single movie into DVDA and you have your DVD. No buttons, no menus. You put the DVD into your DVD player and it starts right into playing your movie.

If you use the menu based choice you drag your media to the window and a ‘button is automatically produced. You set what is shown in that button or actually the icon as they can be different, by highlighting the button and going to button properties (should be found in upper right) You want a portion (preview) of your movie to play in the button? Choose animate button and set the in and out points to show what part you want to play. You DO NOT have to make a separate media in Vegas for it.
