Hi there i’m an animation student 2d and 3d,and i’m going to be working on a film next year,i really want to get involved in the compositing world.

The film will be made traditionally (hand drawn on paper-scanned in) perhaps some 3d backgrounds.Anywho

I’ll be using after effects, and i just want to know maybe how i could prepare prior to the film which begins production in october.

Some things that interest me are, lighting effects, gradients, fish eye lens, camera moves (shakes, hand held effect),looping background and overall polishing

I don’t know if anyone is familiar with animated films, like say the old disney movies or anything professionally made, but they all have that “LOOK” where u can tell something is a movie rather than a tv show.

It would be great if you could help me prepare some simple projects maybe using some simple shapes to get me started.I pretty much know how to create keyframes, and about the basics null objects and solids,masks..heh thats that.Oh and i’m pretty familiar with photoshop if that means anything.

here are some examples of the look i’m goin for….
