    Hi everyone,

I’m sure this is a beginner question but…

I am doing a project where I need to recreate the opening sequence in the TV show “Lost”.

(If you’re unfamiliar, it’s the first 11 seconds of this video on youtube: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZIQeQtEDKhI)

Anyway, the information I know is that the logo is a 3-D logo in the Futura font. So I went into Photoshop and created a 3-D logo with that font, and then imported into AE as a “Composition – Cropped Layers.”

From there I am lost. I don’t know how to move the multiple layers together. Everytime I tried to move the graphic, the drop shadow or outer bevel layer from the Photoshop graphic wont move with. Basically I just need the 3-D graphic to fade in blurred and rotate toward the camera as the blur goes away.

Any ideas? Anything would help; I’ve be struggling with this.

    Thanks!

AE isn’t designed for 3D primarily.

You can multiple layers to move together with “parenting.”

The blur could be achieved by animating keyframes on a blur effect filter. (you have a few to choose from.) Or you could create a camera with very shallow depth of field and move your text through it.
