Not sure where else to ask this question, but the people here are always really quick at replying and usually come up with great answers, and I guess its kinda final cut orientated. Anyway, so final cut is crashing lots, we think our computer is probably not sweet enough, so we are planning on buying the new 8 core macpro. The people we are buying it from are offering 2 extra gb, ddr2 800mghz of ram for $150nz each. Personally I am more of a pc guy and have worked with pc’s a lot more than macs, but that sounds like a big price for just 2gb’s more ram.
So I was looking around and this ram https://pconlineshop.co.nz/pcshop/product_info.php?products_id=24587 is the kind I usually buy for my pc, which is obviously one hell of a lot cheaper, but it seems to be the same specs as the stuff the apple person is offering with the macpro.
So to skip to the point, is the $21 any worse than the $150 ram.. and will it work in the macpro… specs seem the same but is there something I am missing… are there more pins or anything like that?
