No.

Since the device will not initially have the ability to edit directly from the unit,( as that is scheduled for a later software version) it is necessary to remove the media to allow FCP to be able to access it.

you could record to xpress cards and then use those for the intermediate edit, but there not any way to access the content without removing the media and connecting to FCP.
