I am using a PF4211UK with SDI in and a 3D Display Lut in Resolve generated by Light-Space and a Hubble for calibration. Seems like the 300 will be well under $5k which is great…
Not a huge fan of LCD…

November 3, 2011 at 6:13 pmI’d be really interested to know how the black levels turn out. I’m currently working off a calibrated Kuro monitor whose blacks are straight black. I heard somewhere that Pioneer’s magic was being integrated into Panasonic’s line so if that’s true then I’ll probably switch for the more advanced color space options and HD-SDI support. That and my living room TV at home is looking a little old…

November 4, 2011 at 12:45 pmAnd it might around for another few more years.
We are testing the new SONY OLED here right now and its shocking.
Off topic , I know, but its just overwhelming how great the black is, how vidid the colors and how incredibly bad the viewing angle is.
Two people, two meters distance…thats it..like +-25 degree off center.A slice of color…

November 7, 2011 at 8:51 pmWill these reference grade plasmas still require the extensive continual calibration/re-calibration that the previous consumer models did or are they ready to go out of the box ala a Flanders Scientific?
I guess my other concern is whether floating white points are still part of the equation.

“I heard somewhere that Pioneer’s magic was being integrated into Panasonic’s line”I think the Pioneer guys Panasonic hired have been working on the higher end consumer plasmas since mid to late 2010.
