New Kona 3/MacPro/video “pulses”
Just set up a new MacPro/Kona 3/K3 box rig. When I try to Log/Capture in FCP video appears in my computer monitor and external monitor… however it’s pulsing as if it can’t lock up sync. I’m using a Beta SX deck via SDI. The deck sounds like it is struggling to get lock sync. There is no house reference signal.
Any ideas what the problem might be?

How does the picture look straight out of the machine? Any error codes?
You might want to invest in a Horta sync generator. They are resonably cheap – less than $300.
