new iphone videos not recognized in old mac/premiere

I know, my computer is too old. But for today, any guidance appreciated.

I’m on PP CC 2015 on OSX Yosemite. I can’t update my OS anymore on this comp and it’s starting to cause problems so the upgrade is coming.

But I was sent iPhone videos in Goggle Drive. I know they are ok because I can watch them fine in Google Drive. But they wont play on my mac or in premiere. I get notified about the codec in premiere.

I tried converting it to mp4 in things like mpeg streamclip in hopes it would make it work, but no luck yet.

Any guidance on how I can convert these files to a format that will work on my computer?

Have you tried converting it to prores 422?

thanks stephen i just found a converted that’s still compatible…VideoProc and am able to successfully convert to H264. Thanks again for the quick reply!
