[Wayne Carey] “Apple still stands by the statement that Steve Jobs made saying they will never fully support Blu-Ray because they feel its a stepping stone in the advancement of HD to the Internet. “

Do you have a link to any articles actually attributing this quote to Steve Jobs, or are you paraphrasing? I was under the impression that the only public statement by Apple or Jobs regarding Blu-Ray was that it’s a “world of hurt,” and he was referring to licensing issues. Just curious, because in all of the discussions about this issue I’ve read, I have never come across a reference to anything like what you’ve written that wasn’t rumor or speculation.

That being said, I agree that Apple probably feels this way about Blu-Ray, but I wasn’t aware that they had made any public statements to that effect.

Maybe the Snow Leopard feature Grand Central Dispatch will address this… was just briefly reading about this.

Also noticing the conspicuous absence of any mention of LiveType. Has it finally gone bye-bye and been absorbed into Motion 4?

    Bag. Bag of hurt.

I am so excited about the rest of the features. BluRay isn’t at the top of my list.

Uh Oh, No Live Type? Deal Breaker, unless you can load Live Type from the previous version.

Well… I remember hearing this at the last MacWorld conference. I’m not quoting Steve Jobs but mainly paraphrasing what I read about his speech.

Right. LiveType is no longer. You can still load it from previous versions. Much of the LiveType stuff has been folded into Motion.

    Why?

You can’t edit your text in FCP thru LiveType. You can with Motion files. Besides moving groups of text in LiveType was a real pain. There are so many reasons why LiveType was finally killed. Besides the ease of applying animations to text, LiveType was always a thorn in our sides.
