so.. i’m just getting crashes or freezes left and right. I’m really hoping there some easy fix. But I’m doubting it.

    My rig:
    i7 2600K
    GTX 570 HD
    Asus Mobo
    16gb G.skill Ram

I open Vegas, go to media effects, add NewBlue to the project, type in my text and them try to play with other parameters and it freezes Vegas. This happens with or without GPU accel enabled.

I’ve posted another issue on here regarding Multi-Camera Editing as well, it crashes, freezes or BSOD’s my entire computer when I do MCE.

SOmething is off.. this is a fresh install of Win 7, the computer was JUST built and all these issues keep happening.

    Any help?

So I found it to be the RAM in my system. This is a new build and I had to take out the expensive faster RAM, and put in the regular RAM, both G.SKill, but the CAS 9 latency ram works, the CAS 7… no go.

Still though, I’m getting some issues where it kills vegas if I poke around in there too much. So I make quick edits, close the fx box, save the entire session and go back into newblue fx box… its’ REALLY annoying…

anyone have any ideas on what makes vegas and newblue so buggy and how to fix it!

    A few things to check:

    1. What video card are you using and what version of the video driver?

If it is an ATI/AMD card, right-click a blank area of the desktop. There should be an “AMD Control Center” type entry listed there. Click on that. On the screen that opens, scroll down to the bottom of the left side, click on “Information”, and then click on “Software Update”. You should now see on the right where it says “AMD Catalyst” and gives the version installed. What version does it say? The current Catalyst version is 12.2

If it is an nVidia card, right-click a blank area of the desktop and choose “NVIDIA Control Panel”. On the screen that opens, go to Help – System Information. The first entry in the big scrolling window that opens reads “Driver Version”. What version does it say? The current version is 296.10.

    2) What build of Titler Pro do you have installed? The newest version can be found here:

    3. What build of Vegas do you have installed? The current version is 594/595.

I have the newest version of all of them, the only one I’m not 100% sure on is the NewBlue as I couldn’t figure out how to find out the build number of the one I have, however I did just download it from the site 2 weeks ago, so unless there was a recent release in that time, I have the newest build.

Any other ideas? It’s SUCH a great tool, I’d love to poke around it in more and learn about it, but it crashes if I’m in there for more than 3-4 minutes!

In Titler Pro, go to Help – About and it will give you the version and build numbers.

    Is your machine a laptop?

    Build 120208

I’m losing my mind with this. It’s SOOOOOOOO finicky! I build this computer around what Vegas and NewBlue suggest and it doesn’t work. So frigging frustrating. I have minimal time to work on editing and I spend it opening and closing programs that cost hundreds of dollars… getting NOWHERE.

First I returned my RAM, and got other RAM, that seemed to help, but now… I don’t think it did. I open Newblue and can do what I want, but once I click on library… it freezes vegas and i have to shut the program down.

Please someone tell me there’s a dumb fix to this i’m missing… i’m truly losing my gord.

    ugh.

Shaun, start a help ticket at NewBlueFX.com so we can give you specific help for your situation. This is definitely NOT what I’m seeing on any of my machines so we need to determine where the conflict on your machine is occurring.

I have one going at Newblue, but the help is sporadic and hasn’t gotten me anywhere.

I’m posting here in case anyone has met a similar issue and found a remedy.

For me the New Blue Titler crashing is linked to the New Blue Titler effects pop-up window.

I was about to submit a help ticket to New Blue for a similar problem. New Blue Titler was crashing immediately whenever I tried to put it on the timeline.

I use a multi-monitor setup(using three ATI Radeon 4670s), and I noticed by accident that the crashing was linked to the effects pop-up window. If the pop-up initially appeared on my main editing screen, New Blue Titler then ran fine. If the pop-up appeared/loaded on a alternate monitor… it crashed reliably with the “Vegas has stopped working…” message.

Once the New Blue Titler effects pop-up loads, it can then be happily shuffled off to either alternate monitor… weird, but it works for me.

I thought I’d share this discovery in case it helps others trouble shoot-it…
