    Steve,

    It looks to me that YouTube will take care of the frame size when they re-encode. I don’t think they ever use our raw files. Otherwise, they would not have consistent controllers, no?

    For instance, I just watched a video which was shot and presented 4×3, and they pillarboxed it.

    But this is great news, we can now put up widescreen movies without letterboxing!

    Yes this is wonderful news, no more cropping. So I guess I’ll just de-interlace and compress in my native (1080 x 1920) frame size, then let them set their appropriate 16:9 frame size.
