Neurotic hard drive–how to handle?
It’s not dead but acting sicko since AME crashed several times targeting Folder “A”
The drive shows up on the desktop and in Finder and in show info.
If I double-click the desktop icon the drive fails with a message about Finder windows failed to open. Yup.
In Finder, if I click directly in the drive it fails the same way.
In Finder, if I click on another hard drive and then on the drive it shows all folders/contents.
But if I click on Folder “A” it fails.
Is this drive just failing or does it have PTSD because of its recent experience with AME?
It’s backed up — I can even try to copy all the other folders besides Folder “A.”
It’s a 4 GB G-tech drive that’s actually newer than all my other external drives.
Running Mac OS 10.8.5 yes I know that’s old but I’m editing a legacy film and don’t want to update the OS/NLE till it’s done.
I would really appreciate any thoughts.
Thanks,
