This documentary on netflix utilises a lot of very old, distressed archival video – 3/4, vhs, beta. Clearly much of the video IS damaged. But I suspect they also use a lot of plug-ins (on old but decent quality video) as well. What are the best plug-in packages to get these effects? Any recommendations?
I’m also trying to get the early digital video corrupt file/glitch effects that were common with miniDV tapes. These are very boxy in their presentation. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Haven’t seen the show to give specifics but the usual places to look are https://aescripts.com and Red Giant https://www.redgiantsoftware.com. Search on distress or glitch. Some are reasonable, others seem a bit pricey. Haven’t heard of any clever ways of doing this sort of thing natively in AE, but ya never know.
