Is it possible to nest a sequence from one timeline into a track of another sequence. Similar to how Final Cut 7 did it. or similar to After Effects Pre composing.

I think Mike is looking for the “auto update” function?

As far as i know, there is no such thing. Perhaps some weird workaround of ama’ing
reference movies? Create a ref movie of sequence A, ama it back in, edit into sequence B.

Change Sequence A and re output the reference movie. Probably have to RE-Link your AMA.
Not sure if that would work or not.

I love that function in AE, makes multi pass stuff quite simple.

Ideally yes. In Fcp 7 all you needed to do was drag a sequence into a video track. And it would act as a clip, but then you can double click and just load up that Timeline make changes and then go back to you other sequence.

What you can do is making a subsequence of the sequence A and edit into sequence B. Make an IN and OUT and then drag the little sequence icon from your record monitor (the right windows) into your bin and you will have a subsequence. Hope that helps.
