When I try to nest my audio I get two channels no matter what settings I use, either stereo or dual mono. How to I change this to get on track of audio on the mix down? I did use the mix down button in the nesting box.

AFAIK, that’s how nests are done in FCP5. Dumb not to have any user control but that seems to be it.
I’m pretty sure your only choice is to unlink the resulting pair of tracks and delete one of them.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
